Energy Performance Certificates
Energy performance certificates are currently required for almost all buildings, including Commercial,
industrial,new builds and domestic homes. Landlords and any homeowners that Let property or intend to
sell it, must by law have an energy performance certificate , before they can market the property.
Local
authorites are clamping down on those that do not comply. "Fines
are £200.00 and you will still need to have an EPC."
From April 1st 2012 the Energy Performance Certificate will be easier to understand and have new information
on it regarding the "GREEN DEAL"The government initiative will allow home owners to
upgrade their existing levels of insulation and make them more energy efficienct saving you on fuel bills and helping
reduce carbon emissions. For certain measures homeowners will be able to pay for the improvements through their energy supplier. Subsidies
may also be available in certain cases. More details will be announced later in the year.

Performance Certificate with a rating of at least D. This is the national average rating so don't worry, just call and

Gas safety is obviously very important, whether you are

New legislation comes into effect next year regarding Gas Flues that are hidden in voids
or are not visible
for full inspection. Don't get caught out, Inspection hatches are legally required in certain
