What does a Domestic Energy Assessor do?

- A DEA is a domestic energy assessor, a person trained by government backed
learning schemes and is regularly audited to ensure accuracy and reliability. All DEAs must be (CRB) criminal records bureau
checked and verified and carry full liability insurance.
- Accredited by industry leading companies such as NHER
and SAVA.
- Only accredited DEAs can carry out an energy assessment.
- The role of an assessor is to collect data from your building which includes
taking measurements to calculate area and heat loss perimeters. Photographs are taken to record heating systems, their
controls, electric metres and various types of insulation in the building.
- This data is uploaded into software and a report is then generated with recommendations
for improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.
- It is not compulsory to carry out the recommendations in the report, however, by acting on them, there
could be considerable savings on heating bills and at the same time help reduce co2 emissions which contribute to global
warming.
- All our energy assessors will respect your home, arrive promptly, be courteous and carry ID-photo cards for
your peace of mind.
